The Royal Challengers Bangalore big-hitter, Chris Gayle, stopped in Patna on Wednesday for the promotion of a real estate company and left a storm in his wake. The popular West Indian, who gives most teams in the Indian Premier League sleepless nights with his powerful play, arrived almost two hours behind schedule at a hotel for the news meet. It finally took off around 8.30pm. Gayle stayed for around five minutes but still floored everybody with his moves. Photographers jostled to take the power hitter’s picture, as fans struggled to take a closer look even if they could not snag an autograph. Promising some more power moves on the IPL 6 pitch, Gayle said: “I am delighted that I got a chance to come down to Bihar. My work is to entertain audiences through my consistent performance and I will do so.” Boring Road resident Sunil, a fan in the audience, was noted making a video of his favourite star entering the hall for the meet. “I managed to get the best seat in the hall so that I could get an autograph but unfortunately I failed,” said Sunil. The next time Sunil will be able to catch Gayle from a short distance would be on the telly during Bangalore’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Ranchi on Sunday. In the Jharkhand capital on Wednesday, several T20 fans had to return home disappointed because of poor coordination between the convenience kiosks and the ticketing agent.
