Gaya, May 27: District and sessions judge Sajal Mandilwar today rejected the bail petition of suspended JDU MLC Manorama Devi and her husband Bindeshwari Prasad Yadav alias Bindi Yadav, while police filed a chargesheet against the husband-wife duo in the court.
Police have filed the chargesheet in connection with the recovery of liquor bottles from MLC's house during a search on May 9 to arrest her son, Rakesh Ranjan Yadav alias Rocky, who is the prime accused in the murder case of Aditya Sachdeva, a student of Nazareth Academy, Gaya.
On the other hand, the court of additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) Om Sagar also rejected the bail petition of Teni Yadav, Rocky's cousin and co-accused in the Aditya murder case.
Earlier, Manorama had filed the bail petition in the ACJM's court, which was also rejected. Seeking further relief from the court, the bail petition was filed in the court of district and sessions judge.
"We will file fresh bail petition in Patna High Court next week," said Qaiser Sarfuddin, Manorama's counsel, today. All four of the family, including Manorama, her husband Bindi, son Rocky and nephew Teni, are presently lodged in Gaya Central Jail.
The investigating officer of the liquor case, Ramanuj Ram, of Rampur police station today submitted the chargesheet against Manorama, Bindi and Rocky in the case lodged with Rampur police station under sections 47, 48, 53 and 54 of the Liquor Prohibition Act (Amended).
The names of Bindi and Rocky have been included during the investigation. According to information, police have also procured the report from the forensic science laboratory in connection with the road rage case and now gearing up to file chargesheet in this connection too.
