If partying is on your mind, the city just got its second playground.

Step Up, a brand new discotheque, will open its doors to party lovers on Thursday at The Panache on Exhibition Road.

For those who want to let their hair down on Christmas and New Year, will now have an option other than The Discman — the only nightclub the city had till Step Up stepped in.

The nightclub shares its name with the famous Hollywood series on street dance of the same name. Designed with high voltage and international décor, the party den promises to give the revellers the ultimate party experience. The discotheque is equipped with 3,000MW sound system and automatic remote control LEDs. Step Up can accommodate 200 revellers at a time.

Ambience Event & Media Pvt. Limited has been assigned the responsibility of organising parties at the discotheque. Rahul Kumar, the director of Ambience Event & Media Pvt. Limited, said: “We have to ensure that the parties at the nightclub will have something for everyone. We have tried to create an ambience where people of all age groups would feel comfortable and enjoy to the fullest.”

The nightclub management has lined up a series of parties in the days to come (see chart). Sourav, the event manager, said: “The entry fee at Step Up has been fixed at Rs 500. However, on special occasions, the normal entry charges will not be applicable.”

Women need not worry about their safety or fear going alone to the nightclub. The nightclub has hired bouncers for them. Sourav said: “We are committed to make the discotheque a safe place for women. More than four bouncers will be on duty to provide safety to the women who will come to party here.”

The nightclub has decided to dedicate one day of the week for women, two for stags and the other days for couples. The women are ecstatic about the fact that the nightclub has dedicated a day of the week for them.

Shilpa, a student of Magadh Mahila College, said: “The new discotheque has lined up some really cool parties, especially for women. I am happy that finally there will be a day dedicated to us.”

The party lovers have more reasons to celebrate as they would be able to avail discount coupons for the nightclub from food outlets like Dominos, CCD, McDonald’s and KFC.

IT employee Rakesh said: “I am happy that another discotheque (apart from The Discman) has come up. I was bored going to the same place again and again. I have already visited the discotheque and liked the ambience.”

The hard drinks and food items available at the Step Up are enticing, too.

Sandeep Kumar, the food and beverages manager of The Panache, said: “The bar menu has whisky, rum, vodka and sorted cocktail, while there is Chinese and continental snacks and tandoori on the food platter.”
