Patna, Oct. 10: Faculty members of Dr Zakir Hussa- in-Ignou Community College today stressed the need for vocational training.
Speaking on the occasion of the fifth convocation of the institute, Uttam Kumar Singh, the director of the institute, said: “A person who has vocational training becomes the most wanted person for jobs. By having a vocational degree, the job prospects will be enhanced.” Singh was addressing the new batch of paramedical and non paramedical students at Indian Institute of Business Management.
He said more than 60 per cent students in the US are taking vocational courses after clearing their Class XII examinations. “Our college was among the first lot of community colleges that was registered with Ignou,” said Singh.
The students were provided with study materials on the occasion.
