Muzaffarpur, Dec. 13: State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced biometric system at its Gobarshahi Agriculture De-velopment Bank (ADB) branch to avert cyber fraud bids by employees.
With the biometric system in place, employees would have all their fingers scanned, apart from the usual ID and password, to log in to their computers. Gobarshahi ADB is the first branch of the bank to have the biometric system in Bihar and Jharkhand.
The branch has, of late, been under attack from cyber criminals.
SBI (Muzaffarpur) regional manager P.K. Mishra said the bank decided to introduce the system in the Gobarshahi branch in the wake of two illegal transactions from Bharat Coking Coal Limited’s account in Dhanbad. Formalities to introduce the system are being completed, he said.
A team of cyber experts from SBI, Mumbai, recently visited the Gobarshahi branch and made foolproof arrange-ments for secured business operations.
