| Workers give finishing touches to the R-Block arm of Budh Marg-Karbigahiya flyover in Patna on Sunday. The flyover, which is almost complete, would shorten the travel time while commuting between southern and western areas of the city. Road construction department minister Nand Kishore Yadav told The Telegraph: “It will be a boon for Patna residents once the third arm (of the flyover) is opened for public use on August 14. It will be a gift to the residents on the eve of Independence Day.” The GPO-R-Block stretch of Hardinge Road was closed because of the construction of this part of the flyover. It caused traffic snarls and put pressure on Income-Tax Roundabout. Opening of the flyover would address this problem. The flyover is a joint venture of Bihar government and Indian Railway Construction Company. Text by Amit Bhelari, picture by Deepak Kumar |
