Patna, Sept. 6: Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh, a non-government organisation, would organise a five-day fair at Narayani Samaroh Hall in east Boring Canal Road from September 8 to boost the confidence of women entrepreneurs.
The fair would have handicrafts from Jabalpur, Calcutta, Delhi, Bolpur, Gurgaon, Muzaffarpur and Patna.
The participants at the fair would be women entrepreneurs. Around 80 stalls would be put up. Designer saris, woollen garments, Mithila paintings, artwork, salwar suits, dresses for kids, handicraft including Tikuli craft, wooden furniture, saris with block print, embroidered dresses, dresses with Kantha stitch and Gujarati handicrafts would be available at the fair.
“This time, one unique item would be organic (natural vegetable dyed) saris from Madras,” said Usha Jha, the secretary of Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh at a news meet today. Jha said the other attraction would be a stitching demonstration by Mala Sinha, a Patna-based entrepreneur who would make bags out of old discarded clothes in front of the visitors. Food items like papad, pickles, masalas, spicy sattu, and home decor materials would also be available.
Dipak Kumar, the principal secretary, tourism would inaugurate the fair. The chief guests would be D.K. Singh, director, micro, small and medium enterprises and J.K. Gupta, circle head, Punjab National Bank.
“Every year, we organise two fairs to give a chance to women entrepreneurs to exhibit their skills and help them make a market,” said Pushpa Chopra, chairperson, Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh.
