Siwan, July 5: Career options are reaching the doorsteps of youths in Bihar. Now, they don’t need to migrate to bigger cities in search of livelihood.

These reassuring words came from state labour minister Janardan Singh Sigriwal at a job fair held in Siwan district today.

“A number of jobs have reached your doorstep and you do not have to go around looking for employment,” the minister said after inaugurating the daylong job fair organised at VMH High School-cum-Inter College.

The minister said youths should concentrate on sectors where employment avenues are aplenty.

“A number of employment fairs are being organised by the state government. These have helped youths get jobs of their choice,” the minister added.

Taking a dig at the 15 years of Rashtriya Janata Dal regime, Sigriwal said the previous government only made tall claims but did not provide any jobs.

“Factories were shut down leading to mass unemployment (during the RJD regime). Now, the NDA government has scripted a turnaround and created an environment of trust which has urged companies to come and invest in the state,” he said.

MLA Ramayan Manjhi, additional district magistrate Arvind Kumar Tiwary and sub-divisional officer Somesh Bahadur Mathur were also present at the fair.

Around 4,000 applicants had submitted their curriculum vitae to different companies and approximately 1,200 were provided appointment letters.
