Patna, June 21: The BJP is out to project Nitish Kumar as a “weak CM” susceptible to the pressures of bureaucrats.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav on Friday said two months ago, the planning department had notified appointment of senior MLAs as heads of committees at the sub-division level, to monitor implementation of state-sponsored projects.
“Even after over two months, the committees are yet to be formed because officers are opposed to the idea of having an MLA as head of the panel,” Yadav said.
State BJP president Mangal Pandey alleged that the chief minister preferred political turncoats over loyalists. “All the ministers in the Nitish government now are political turncoats like Vijay Choudhary, Shyam Rajak, Ramai Ram, Bhim Singh, Shahid Ali Khan and others. The JD(U) has become a party of imported leaders,” Pandey said.
He also criticised Nitish for the manner in which he treated former health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey. “A colleague with whom he (Nitish) has worked for more than seven years was trapped in the Uttarakhand deluge. Nitish did not take any initiative to trace him,” said Pandey.
‘No Modi blues’
National spokesperson of the JD(U), Shivanand Tiwari, said the party does not have any problem if Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi visits Bihar. “However, I must say that he is a fanatic and if he becomes the PM, there would be instability in society. If he gets power, Hindustan will turn into Pakistan. Today Pakistan is a failed nation, India, too, will meet a similar fate if he (Modi) becomes PM” he said.
