Patna, Jan. 11: Thirteen posts for the Patna Women’s College cabinet are again up for elections, and the candidates are wasting no time in canvassing for votes.
The candidates — Part II students of the college — only got a day’s time to campaign for the elections, scheduled on Friday. The posts up for poll include premier, general secretary, joint general secretary and cultural secretary.
Wasting no time, the candidates came armed with posters displaying achievements and friends who appealed for votes on their behalf.

BSc Part II student Jaya Madhuri is contesting for the premier’s post. She said: “I have filled the campaign poster with all my achievements till date. I also have attached copies of the different certificates I have been awarded at competitions. I think this might attract more votes.”
Her friends are also assisting her in the poll. “I have a good chance of winning the election as my friends have left no stone unturned in ensuring my campaign is better than that of everybody else. They have assured the students that if they vote for me, I would give them several opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities,” said Madhuri on her strategy for the college polls.
While some are wooing with certificates, some are hoping their honesty will carry them through the elections. BCom Part II student Pallavi Priya, who has stood for the post of joint general secretary, said: “I don’t have any strategy to win the elections but I have told the students I would try do my best for the college and them. I think the honesty factor will help me gain votes.”
Kritika Agrawal, who has stood for the cultural secretary’s post, came as Santa to woo the students and garner their votes.
