Gaya, Dec. 27: Vigilance officers today caught Manpur block education officer Gopal Prasad Singh while he was taking a bribe of Rs 8,000.

Manoj Chaudhary of Bhadeja village under Manpur block complained that the officer had sought Rs 10,000 from him. Chaudhary, who works as a tola sevak, alleged that he had not received his monthly remuneration of Rs 2,500 for a year. Tola sevaks ensure cent per cent attendance in schools. Chaudhary accused the officer of demanding the bribe to release the remuneration amount.

Vigilance officers today caught dairy field officer Sant Om Prakash, working with Madhubani dairy development office, while taking a bribe of Rs 4,000. Complainant Kranti Kumar alleged Prakash had taken the bribe to release a cheque for a loan.
