Canine Club of Bihar is all set to organise the second edition of ramp show for dogs of small breeds at Bihar Veterinary Association on February 17.

The first edition was organised in 2009 and after a gap of four years, dog lovers in the city would once more get an opportunity to walk their dogs down the ramp — ready with colourful costumes and suitable accessories.

Different breeds like Spitz, Pug, Cocker Spaniel, Pomeranian would walk the ramp. The show is expected to be an enthralling experience, especially for the dog lovers.

Ajeet Kumar, secretary of Canine Club of Bihar said: “Dogs would wear colourful costumes and funky accessories. Dog owners love to dress up their pets and they would definitely put their best effort for the show. For them, it would be a moment of pride to watch their dogs walking the ramp in beautiful costumes.”

The canines would be seen wearing coats, frocks with accessories like colourful hair bands, neck collars, body belts, goggles, ribbons and scarves.

Kumar claimed that the ramp show would be different from the shows organised in other metro cities.“In metros, these kinds of ramp shows are very common. But our ramp show would be different because the dog owners would not accompany their dogs on the ramp,” he said.

“Dogs would be judged on their getup and movement on the ramp unlike the breed show where dogs have to prove their skill participating in different activities,” said Kumar.

Kumar said 16 people have already registered for the show and they are hoping for more participation. “We would give away trophies to the dog owners. We would give first, second and third prizes in the show,” Kumar said.
