Patna, March 27: Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA) will organise a state-level general meeting of its members on April 3 to discuss the challenges of the health sector in the state.

The organisers today said several demands pertaining to the problems faced by the doctors would be raised at the meeting.

Ajay Kumar, the BHSA convener, said: “There are about 3,000 doctors in the state doing the work of around 10,000-12,000 doctors. The praise that the state government is getting for improvement in the health sector could be attributed to the good work done by the doctors. But not much has improved in terms of health infrastructure and resources.”

He said: “The government is not serious about our concerns and interests. We want to make our voices heard through this meeting.” He also said apart from regular doctors, contractual doctors, dentists and doctors who teach would attend the meeting.
