Patna, Oct. 20: The last week of October is going to be all fun and no school for students in the state capital.
With Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations starting from October 25, most private schools in Patna have announced eight-to-10-day vacations for students.
Radiant International School is closing from October 26 and the holidays will continue till November 3. Shashank Anand, a Class X student of the school, has already planned his vacation. “I will help my parents decorate our house in the best possible manner. Most children of my age group have left the colony (Maurya Vihar Colony, near BMP 16) because their parents were transferred to other places. So, the excitement for crackers is not much this Diwali,” said Anand.
He said he will not be able to visit his grandmother’s place in Bhagalpur during Chhath Puja but that will not stop him from visiting the city ghats.
All schools under DAV Group have announced vacations from October 25 to November 3. Same is the case with Patna Central School and Carmel High School, St Joseph’s Convent High School is will remain closed from October 25 to November 2.
St Dominic Savio’s High School is closing from October 25 to November 7. Amit Kumar, a Class XI student of the school, is thrilled to get a longer vacation than his friends from other schools. He, however, is not planning anything for Diwali yet. His half-yearly results (Class XI) would be out on October 24. Therefore, the excitement depends on the results.
Anand, however, is confident he will get good marks and watch Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Ra.One, which is releasing this Diwali.
“G.One would make my Diwali more interesting. I am planning to watch the first day first show of the film,” said Anand.
Rose Bud is closing from October 26 and will reopen on November 3. School principal M. Rizvi said: “We will have a half day on October 25 and the school will close from October 26.”
