The 101st Bihar Divas celebrations would be a bonanza for every person, in the state and outside.

The Bihar Foundation, Qatar chapter (Arabian Gulf), would celebrate Bihar Divas in Doha on April 19. Prior to that, 20 students and a few teachers from Qatar would arrive in Patna on March 21 to participate in the celebrations.

“Students are the real ambassadors of Bihar. The motive behind bringing students to the state is to help them connect with their roots. They would see the developments in the state and narrate it to others after returning to Qatar. It would also augment branding and spread the message of peace and love from Bihar,” said Shakil Ahmed Kakvi, the chairman of Bihar Foundation, Qatar chapter.

Highlighting the tentative plans for the stay of the students in Patna, Kakvi said: “The students would participate in the various events to be held at Gandhi Maidan during the three-day Bihar Divas celebrations from March 22. They would visit places of educational and historical importance in Bihar, including Jehanabad on the Sufi circuit, Bodhgaya on the Buddhist circuit and a visit to the Ganga banks.”

“They would also meet chief minister Nitish Kumar and invite him to Qatar. They would request him to send a cultural troupe and also organise an exhibition on Bihar tourism during the Bihar Divas celebrations at Doha on April 19. The team would return from Patna on March 28,” he added.

The foundation day at home would also be a good time to savour delicacies from across the country. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) will organise Bihar Food Festival 2013 at Delhi Haat between March 15 and 22. It would have 25 stalls, offering delicacies from Bihar.

Another food festival, offering delicacies from all over India, would be organised at Gandhi Maidan from March 22 to 24. It would have around 115 stalls, spread over an area of 1,000sqm. KFC, McDonalds and Haldiram’s have been invited to set up stalls.
