Gyan Niketan students greet Indian Idol 6 runnner-up Devendra Pal Singh in Patna City on Thursday. Health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey also felicitated Devendra at his official residence on Circular Road. Choubey said: “Devendra has made Biharis proud by clinching second position in Indian Idol 6.” Devendra left Patna City six years ago to live with his uncle in Ludhiana. There he took classical music training for six years from Sukhwant Singh. On Thursday, Singh visited Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib and Gurudwara Shree Bal Leela Sahib. The promising singer attributed his success in Indian Idol 6 to his hard work. “Any singer, who does his riyaaz (practice) regularly can win in Indian Idol. Though, luck also matters in these reality shows. But there is no alternative to hard work.” said Devendra. He reached Patna City on Wednesday on a two-day visit. Fans and friends gave him a rousing welcome on his arrival at Patna airport on Wednesday evening. Text by Shuchismita Chakraborty, picture by Sachin |
