Dengue sting in Council

The dengue issue returned to sting the government in the Legislative Council on Wednesday when RJD legislator Dilip Rai spoke on the "failure" of the municipal corporation to undertake fogging exercise to curb mosquito menace in Patna.

Patna: The dengue issue returned to sting the government in the Legislative Council on Wednesday when RJD legislator Dilip Rai spoke on the “failure” of the municipal corporation to undertake fogging exercise to curb mosquito menace in Patna.

Rai’s question mentioned the prevalence of dengue at Punaichak, Rajvanshi Nagar, Patel Nagar, Mahesh Nagar and Keshri Nagar in Patna. Replying to his question, urban development and housing minister Suresh Sharma said a roster has been made to undertake the fogging work. He added that in some of the localities, which had been mentioned in the question, fogging was done on Tuesday itself.

Salary outsource

Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who holds the charge of information technology department, informed the Legislative Council on Wednesday that certain cuts under the GST, provident fund and other heads, are being made from the salaries of employees hired through outsourcing. 

He was replying to a question raised by JDU legislator Niraj Kumar in which he had sought a reply on why the outsourced employees at Beltron were not getting the full payment of Rs 1,38,222 per month given by the government. 

Waterbody care

Tourism minister Pramod Kumar, who was replying on behalf of revenue and land reforms minister Ram Narayan Mandal in the Council, informed the House on Wednesday that the government had ordered all district magistrates and circle officers to make all water bodies free of encroachment.
