The convocation ceremony of JP University in the district has been postponed because of lukewarm response from the students.
The ceremony was supposed to be organised in end-July, for the first time since the JP University was set up in 1992. Now, it has been delayed indefinitely.
Varsity registrar Tapaswi Prasad Singh said of the 4,500 students, who are supposed to get degrees this year, only nine have registered for the event,
Students claimed that the high registration fee (Rs 1,000) was too much for most of them to pay.
