Patna, Sept. 9: PowerPoint presentations, debate and cultural performances made up the 11th foundation day celebrations of the computer applications department of Magadh Mahila College today.

Patna University statistics head of department Amrendra Mishra graced the occasion as chief guest. College principal Dolly Sinha and other faculty members of the department were also present.

First-year bachelors in computer applications students Alpana, Shilpa, Namita, Sushmita, Suruchi and Meenakshi started the celebrations with a welcome song and other students followed through. A dance on Guru Vandana and a Kathak dance on Ganesh Vandana were also performed.

The department had also organised a competition of PowerPoint presentation on “Internet — The death of newspaper”. Second-year students Akansha, Daksha, Jaya and Monika bagged the first prize, while classmate Shruti Priya got the second prize.

Second-year student Reshu Kumari caught the audience’s attention at the debate competition on Jan Lokpal Bill and won the first prize.
