Patna: The JDU on Monday attacked leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for comparing himself with ace cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar demanded an apology from the RJD leader.

Neeraj, referring to an interview Tejashwi gave to a website on March 1 this year, said that Tejashwi had said that people call him illiterate because he comes from a backward caste but people do not raise questions on the educational qualifications of Sachin and Dhoni. "The crow and the cuckoo have similar colours but when spring comes people feel nice while hearing the sound of cuckoo and the difference between the two birds can be made out. Similarly, Tejashwi is a crow who is comparing himself with cuckoos," Neeraj said.

Sachin has got the Bharat Ratna and his fans call him god while Tejashwi could not even make it to the one-day international side, Neeraj said, adding that Sachin has made the country proud whereas Tejashwi has made Bihar feel ashamed. Similarly, Neeraj said, Dhoni has also received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award apart from the Padma Bhushan and the Padma Vibhushan while the only mark Tejashwi has made is the CBI filing an FIR against him in a benami property case.

"Both the cricketers are very educated and talented," Neeraj said. "When they got the opportunity, they reached the pinnacle due to their hard work. But when Tejashwi got the opportunity he engaged in corruption and extorting money. Tejashwi could not even become a good cricketer or a good politician and remained busy making benami property," Neeraj alleged.

He also accused Tejashwi of mixing talent with caste.

"Tejashwi must tender an apology for his comparison with ace cricketers," Neeraj said. "I am sure that he will not be able to make his mark in politics as well and turn out to be a failed politician. The way Lalu Prasad treated politics for earning money, similarly his sons and daughters have entered politics to make money."
