Cultural treat for music lovers

A performance under way during the Champaran Sanskritik Mahotsav in Motihari on Tuesday night. Artistes from the country and abroad enthralled audiences gathered at Gandhi Maidan in the town, around 160km north of Patna, from around 9pm till midnight. Moumita Mukherjee from Delhi started the programme with 
Ganesh vandana. Accompanying her were Hasin Ahmad and Karan Waris on the sarangi and violin, respectively. One of the attractions of the night was the Bihu dance of Assam performed by artistes in Motihari. Suzi Yamamoto of Japan and Ranjan from Delhi presented a duet performance on the sarod and violin, leaving music lovers delighted. Amit Tiwari, one of the members in the 5,000-strong audience, said: 'The Champaran Sanskritik Mahotsav is a melting pot of culture.'
