Students of Delhi Public School, Bhagalpur, back from an international seminar on cyber crime and security in New Delhi, want commandos to tackle increasing Internet offences in the country.

At a news meet here on Wednesday, Shiva Kumar and Tushar Sinha, Class 12 students who participated in the seminar, said cyber crime was big. Though just 35 per cent of India’s population networks through computers, hackers and those behind cyber crime are mushrooming, Tushar said.

Eleven students, including two girls attended the international seminar on Asia’s foremost information security conference, Ground Zero Summit-2013, at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi from November 7-11.

The seminar, inaugurated by Chhattishgarh governor Shekhar Dutt, was organised by Infosec consortium.

The participants pointed out that the USA, Israel, China, France and Germany already have cyber commandos to tackle cyber crimes.

Countries like India should immediately take an initiative in this direction, said team member Ankita Rani.

They appreciated China for setting an example by developing all software and computer programs in Chinese language, which safeguards it from getting hacked while also helping it establish monopoly.

Team member Avijit Singh said: “We should use our own language while developing any software and computer program, like in China.”
