Patna, Aug. 16: The education department would ask state universities to prepare a development plan regarding popular courses before recruiting teachers.
The department’s principal secretary, Amarjeet Sinha, said: “We would request universities in the state to prepare a development plan regarding popular courses.” Courses such as management, computer, biotechnology and others would be given preference for teachers’ recruitment.
He said: “Teachers will be appointed on University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. Rules mandate candidates having qualified for National Eligibility Test or having PhD according to UGC regulations, 2009. Finding students with low percentage marks getting enrolled and acquiring a doctorate degree in three to five years, the UGC introduced new norms for PhD after taking note of the Mungekar Committee Report.”
