Begusarai, Jan. 13 (PTI): A doctor couple in Begusarai district were robbed late last night, a police officer said today.

Armed dacoits looted cash and valuables worth Rs 4 lakh from the couple’s house in Ashok Nagar in the district.

Superintendent of police Vinay Kumar said a group of six armed dacoits stormed into the house of the couple, Shashi Bhushan Prasad and Asha Bhushan, tied their hands and legs and looted Rs 2 lakh, jewellery and other valuables.

The couple raised an alarm after the dacoits fled with the loot, Kumar said.

Kumar added he had visited the couple at their house and had verified the incident.
