Muzaffarpur, Feb. 8: For those with a scientific bend of mind, here is some good news. Preparations are on for Bihar Science Congress, a three-day-long extravaganza, at Langat Singh College, a premier unit of Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University.

More than 1,000 scientists, from India and abroad, will be attending the event starting February 11.

Principal of the college Suniti Pandey told The Telegraph: “This is an effort to promote scientific spirit among students and also create an environment for research.”

Chief minister Nitish Kumar would be inaugurating the event, added Pandey, who is also the chairman of the organising committee of the congress.

“The congress is organised every year on the lines of the Indian Science Congress. It creates a platform where great scientific minds come together and exchange cutting-edge ideas,” said Pandey.

Experts will evaluate existing information and interpret the data to suggest suitable results. They would also suggest what collective efforts could be taken to create a favourable environment for research.

“There will be presentations and posters on physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, information technology, mathematics, medicine, water resources, clinical psychology and electronics at the event,” said Pankaj Kumar, the convener of the congress .
