State Bank of India (SBI), Bhagalpur zone, plans to introduce a separate premier banking centre inside its main branch in the town for designated customers by end-November.
On Monday evening, A.J. Vidyasagar, the deputy general manager, SBI, Bhagalpur zone, said: “The second premier banking centre of its kind in Bihar after the one in Patna would be launched by the end of November or the first week of December. We would provide the best service to our designated customers and if needed, even at their doorstep.”
The proposed centre would use Net banking system for customers with minimum deposits of Rs 20 lakh with the bank. It would have a separate enclosure, where special sitting arrangements and other facilities would be available for customers. “We would depute efficient employees at the centre. Customers would even be provided services even at his/her doorstep,” added Vidyasagar. He said the bank would give preference to such customers for availing bank locker facilities.
Asked about facilities for the bank’s general customers, Vidyasagar said: “To make the banking system more effective, three assistant general manager-rank officials, Ranjan Kumar Singh, Sanjay Kumar and Uzzal Kumar, has been assigned the responsibility to take charge of 40 branches under region 1, Bhagalpur main branch and 12 branches under Rashmake.”
Vidyasagar said for assisting elderly pensioners and physically challenged customers, the main branch would depute grahak sahayaks (customer helps).
“For home loans, formalities would be completed within four working days, while education loan would take three days, car loan in a day, personal loan in a day and loans to small and medium entrepreneurs in four days,” said Vidyasagar.
