Patna: A Class XII student of a college in Rohtas district had to pay with his life apparently for making public the love affair of one of his classmates.

The body of 17-year-old Sahil Kumar of Radhshanta College, Tilauthu, was found near Jagdev Chowk under the jurisdiction of Tilauthu police station in Rohtas district on Friday. The boy's family alleged that Sahil was killed for exposing the love affair of a classmate with a girl student.

Sahil's uncle, Prabhu Nath Singh, told the police that Sahil was threatened with dire consequences after he spotted the classmate and a girl in a compromising position on the college premises on December 7. Another youth was with the couple.

The station house officer (SHO) of Tilauthu police station, Vishwajeet Kumar, said the police ascertained the boy's identity with the help of the school identity card, which was recovered from his pocket. Sahil was a resident of Mirsarai village, around 35km from Sasaram, the district headquarters of Rohtas, while the two named accused belonged to Badiha village of the district, he added.

The Telegraph is withholding the names of the accused students since both are minors and the allegations against them are yet to be proven.

Sahil was the only son of Shambhu Singh and Saraswati Devi. Shambhu is employed in the cotton industry in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. He is on his way to the village.

The SHO said an FIR had been lodged against the students, both of whom are absconding.
