Gaya, Aug. 21: Businessmen downed their shutters and private schools and some hotels remained closed today demanding release of abducted student Prashant Ranjan.

On July 28, criminals abducted the Class IV student of Pre-Manav Bharati School.

More than 200 children of private or NGO-supported schools staged demonstration demanding release of Prashant. Nagrik Vikas Manch and Bodhgaya Hotel Association had called the bandh. Manch president Suresh Singh said police have failed to make any breakthrough even after 25 days of the abduction.

Bodhgaya Hotel Association president Jai Singh said the police have failed to get any clue regarding Prashant’s whereabouts. Magadh range deputy inspector-general of police Nayyer Hasnain Khan has constituted a team led by senior superintendent of police Vinay Kumar to conduct investigation.
