Child Olympiad for Kilkari students

Patna, Jan. 27: With an aim to inspire children to take up sports, the state human resource development department will organise a three-day child Olympiad from January 31 to February 2.

Children in the age group of 10 to 14, from across the state will take part in the sports extravaganza.

The event will be organised by Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhawan at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium. Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi will inaugurate it. Human resource development department minister P.K. Shahi, art and culture Minister Sukhada Pandey.

The event will have both individual as well as group events.

The individual events include 100m, 200m and 400m races, long jump, high jump, discus throwing and others. Group events will include kabaddi, kho-kho, relay race, and volley ball.

Kilkari students from Patna, Beguserai, Baruni, Saran, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Rohtas and other district will participate in the event.

Addressing a press conference human resource development department principal secretary Anjani Kumar Singh said: “The event will give Kilkari student a platform to show their skill.”

On this occasion, Kilkari students who have created a niche for themselves in various sporting activities were also present.

Abhuday Kumar Singh, who had won gold and bronze medal at a national-level karate tournament in Bangalore was felicitated.

Kumar also felicitated Mitali Prasad, a student of Kilkari and silver medal winner and Mukesh Kumar, bronze medal winner.
