Patna, June 7: Good news for Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X students and their anxious guardians and the school authorities. Their long wait of around 25 days for the results is over.
Clarifying all doubts and confusions regarding the exact date of results, CBSE has fixed June 10 as the result date.
“The results of Secondary School Examination, 2011 for Patna region will be declared at 10am on Friday, June 10, 2011,” reads the notice on behalf of controller of examinations M.C. Sharma on the CBSE website.
The CBSE Class X results for all the regions had been declared by June 4 but only the Patna region (Bihar & Jharkhand) had to wait so long. On May 31, the results for Delhi and Chennai regions were declared and by June 4, results for other regions were also announced. CBSE had earlier announced May 16 as the date for the Class X results for the entire country. One of the school principals, preferring anonymity, said: “We were fed up with the phone calls we used to receive daily. Students and guardians were very tensed and used to enquire about the exact result date but we had no reply except for asking them to wait for some more time.”
This was the first time that the Patna regional office of CBSE had taken the responsibility of bringing out the results. The results across the country had to be delayed owing to delay of the Patna region.
Elaborating on the reason for the delay in results, a school director told The Telegraph: “After receipt of answer sheets from various examination centres, they had to be immediately codified by the college or university professors. However, maximum delay took place in this process owing to a communication gap between CBSE officials and the professors. The sheets lay unattended at the Patna regional office for more than a month.”
Rakesh Kumar, an examinee’s father, said: “At last, we have got the exact date of the result. Now my child can plan accordingly.”
