Call to youths to realise science dream

Muzaffarpur Feb. 11: The vice-chancellor of the Central University of Bihar (CUB) has said the state was on the perfect road of transformation.

Inaugurating the three-day 4th Bihar Science Congress 2011 at Langat Singh College under the auspices of Bihar Brains Development Society here on Friday, Janak Pandey, CUB vice-chancellor, said the conference would provide an opportunity to young and budding scientists to interact and exchange scientific information.

Bihar needs more scientists and here an overall a conducive atmosphere has emerged in a few years to augment the development of science and technology in terms of quality.

This is a great initiative to facilitate a platform to the scientists to open up a gate for constructive interaction.

The vice-chancellor of Central University of Bihar said the state government should invest hugely in the science and technology sector.

The technical institutions in the state should come forward in organising workshops to train the young generation.

The involvement of scientists in the domain of science and technology will promote industry, society and economic sectors.

The director of fish and fisheries department of the Union government, Dilip Kumar, said: “The state is marching fast on the path of development. There are a lot of possibilities in the state for development. Though it has no mines, the state has plenty of natural resources. There is scope of development in the field of science and technology based on agriculture. Kumar called upon the scientists to evolve ways for speedy development.

Dr Barbara of Mexico University, spoke on the occasion. The vice-chancellor of Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University, Rajendra Mishra, pro-vice-chancellor Padmasha Jha, former vice-chancellor of Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, Ram Mani Sinha, registrar of the university Vibhas Yadav, principal of Langat Singh College, Suniti Pandey, Bibhuti Bikramaditya and Pankaj Kumar and others expressed their views.

More than 100 delegates from the various educational institutions in the country and abroad have arrived to take part in the scientific sessions.
