Patna, Aug. 11: Activists of the newly formed Kaimuranchal Vikas Morcha, a splinter group of the CPI(Maoist), today sought intervention of chief minister Nitish Kumar into frequent attacks by Naxalites on tribals in Rohtas and Kaimur region.

In a letter addressed to the chief minister, the president of the morcha, Surgeev Singh Kharwar, said many have fallen victim to the Maoists’ attack in Rohtas and Kaimur in the past one month. “We have sought an appointment from the chief minister to apprise him of the situation prevailing in the tribal-dominated villages in the two districts bordering Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh,” Kharwar said.
