| Commuters wait for traffic to clear at Dakbungalow Road in Patna on Sunday. A protest march by 1974 Bihar Agitators’ Co-ordination Committee, a lesser-known organisation, blocked vehicular movement on a less busy Sunday afternoon. The agitators were demanding the repeal of Bihar Lokayukta Bill, closure of liquor shops near educational institutions, bringing back “black money” stashed away in foreign banks and check price rise. While they were protesting, hundreds of commuters were stranded at Dakbungalow Road and Bailey Road. Traffic was diverted from Dakbungalow crossing and people stuck at Bailey Road had to take a circuitous route via Buddha Marg. Picture by Ashok Sinha |
