Patna, Sept. 21: The expert committee formed by urban development and disaster management departments to probe the reported tilting of an under-construction commercial building following the earthquake on Sunday failed to submit a final report today.

Reports of Urmila Complex in Raja Bazaar locality tilting during tremors, gave rise to speculations that the builder did not follow necessary earthquake-proof norms.

“Directions were issued to the Patna district magistrate to get the building inspected by engineers and submit a report,” said an official in the urban development department.

“A vigilance team will probe whether rules and norms have been flouted. The report, however, will take some days to come,” said Patna Municipal Corporation urban planning director Vijay Kumar.
