Security guard shot at
• CHHAPRA: Armed criminals shot at a private security guard and tried to snatch money belonging to the North Bihar Power Holding Company Limited near Sonepur in Saran district on Tuesday. The injured man, identified as Amrendra Kumar Singh, has been admitted to a local hospital. The incident took place when a company employee was going to deposit Rs 9 lakh in the bank with the security guard. Saran deputy superintendent of police P.K. Sharma said raids were on to nab the criminals.
1 held for bus fire
• LAKHISARAI: Jhapta Yadav was arrested in connection with the Morkahi incident in which 62 houses belonging to Mahadalits were allegedly set on fire by Munna Yadav and his associates on October 18. Station house officer Anil Kumar Yadvendu said Munna was arrested and sent to jail in the case. Raids were on to nab the other accused, absconding after the incident. The SHO said a majority of those who had abandoned their houses apprehending fresh attacks have returned.
Bikers loot money
• BANKA: Two criminals riding a motorbike snatched Rs 2.10 lakh from medicine dealer Rupak Yadav at gunpoint while he was on his way to Bhagalpur on Tuesday. Police said the criminals intercepted Yadav and looted his bag containing money and sped away. Panjiwara police station house officer (SHO) B.K. Das said Rupak was going to purchase drugs from Bhagalpur when he was attacked.
