FIRs in funds scam case
PATNA: The state vigilance department has lodged FIRs against two serving IAS, two retired IAS officers and 10 other people in connection with large-scale anomalies in the Bihar Mahadalit Vikash Mission. The department's initial findings found large-scale bungling of funds between 2010 and 2017 in the mission. Launched in 2010, the mission aims at educational, social and economical development of Mahadalit families in Bihar.
Penalty
PATNA: The Bihar Information Commission imposed fines on two RTI officials for not giving information to applicants as mandated by the directive of the commission. The two officials were fined Rs 20,000 each. The fines are to be deposited in the treasury after deducting them from their salaries. Information commissioner B.K. Verma had given the order on Monday.
Midday meal order
PATNA: The education department has asked schools to ensure eggs and seasonal fruits once a week in midday meals and boiled eggs in government schools on Friday. For vegetarian students, seasonal fruits like banana, apple or oranges are to be given, eggs and fruits are to be distributed at Rs 5 per child.
