Truck kills 2 women
Gopalganj: Two women were run over by a speeding truck on National Highway 28 near Balwanma village in Gopalganj district on Friday.
The accident victims - Rajli Devi and her daughter Kavita Kumari - were on their way to the nearby Thawe temple at the time of the mishap.

Assets case
Patna: An assets case has been lodged against Anil Kumar Mishra, former Raj mukhiya in Madhubani, at the vigilance police station. He is accused of amassing unaccounted wealth worth Rs 18.38 lakh.
Kidnap bid
Patna: Some people travelling in an SUV reportedly kidnapped Abhishek Anurag, 25, from Patel Nagar on Friday evening. After he raised an alarm, they released him and fled.

Patna: Soni Devi (30) committed suicide by immolating herself near Ram Nagri Mor on Friday. She died at PMCH.
ISI trio in court
Patna, Feb. 3: Three suspected operatives of Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), who were arrested last month from East Champaran district for their alleged involvement in the Kanpur train accident and an abortive bid to blow up tracks near Ghorasahan, were produced before a special NIA court in Patna today.
The court later sent the trio - Motilal Paswan, Umashankar Patel and Mukesh Yadav - to Beur Central Jail in Patna till February 17.
Last Tuesday, the court had issued a production warrant against the three and they were brought to Patna today from Bettiah district jail under tight security arrangements.
Promotion
Patna: The home department on Friday promoted six deputy superintendents to superintendents of jail and posted them at two district jails - Saran and Aurangabad besides four sub-divisional jails at Barh (Patna), Rosera (Samastipur), Sherghati (Gaya) and Bikramganj (Rohtas), respectively.
Session
Patna: The session of the state Assembly and the Legislative Council will start from February 23. An official press release issued on Friday said the budget of 2017-18 fiscal year would be tabled on February 27.
