Mob attack on cops

Muzaffarpur: Two police station house officers in Gopalganj district were attacked at Chainpur village under Paroo police jurisdiction on Tuesday evening when a team went to the area to arrest a wanted person.

The injured officers, Mahendra Kumar (from Kuchaichak) and Munna Kumar (from Mohammadpur) were rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital in critical condition. The mob fled the area after reinforcements were sent in.

Cash ban rally

Patna: RJD national vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh on Tuesday said his party will organise a mega-rally against demonetisation. The rally date will be announced later, he added.

Diet workshop

Patna: The Bihar Dietetic Association organised a workshop on healthy diet at Patna Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday. Nutritionists discussed diets people suffering from heart, kidney and other conditions should follow.

Funds heat

Munger: District magistrate Uday Kumar Singh has dismissed a programme officer and issued showcause notices to seven others after irregularities were detected in the implementation of schemes under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Act in nine blocks.

Girl burnt

Gopalganj: A minor girl was thrown into the fire during a quarrel among neighbours at Gamharia village on Tuesday morning. The girl has been admitted to the sadar hospital with 40 per cent burns. An FIR has been lodged in the case.
