AIIMS strike

Patna: Nursing staff at AIIMS, Patna, will observe a four-hour strike from 10am on Saturday. Services at the outpatient and indoor departments will remain closed for the period.

Forgery

Gopalganj: Canara Bank senior branch manager Baleshwar Prasad Sinha on Friday surrendered before a court in connection with a Rs 2.57 crore forgery case. He has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

Workshop

Patna: Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) regional centre, Patna, organised a "financial literacy mission" workshop at St Xavier's High School on Friday. Around 82 Ignou students from 13 different Ignou study centres located in 11 districts of the state, attended the workshop which trained students on cashless transactions.

Patna: United Commercial bank's Patna zone observed UCO bank's 74th foundation day on Friday. The event was inaugurated by banking ombudsman of RBI (Bihar and Jharkhand) Smita Chandramani Kumar and Patna RBI general manager Brij Kumar.
