Headless torsos found
Begusarai, Sept. 19: Four beheaded bodies, including those of a woman and two minor girls, were recovered today from a ditch next to Sanha railway crossing on the Begusarai-Barauni railway section of East Central Railway. Their identities are yet to be ascertained.
The station house officer of Sahebpur Kamal police station, Rajesh Kumar, said some women spotted the bodies while collecting fodder in the area. Police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the sadar hospital for post-mortem.

Patna: District magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agrawal on Monday inaugurated a programme to strengthen the vaccination system through implementation of electronic vaccine intelligence network model that digitises vaccine stocks through a smartphone app.
Bike thieves held
Munger: Police on Monday held two members of a bike-lifters' gang - Vikram Tanti (20) and Tinku Paswan (18), both residents of Sitakund village under Muffasil police station - in connection with bikes stolen from Munger town. Superintendent of police Aashish Bharati said a stolen motorcycle was found in the duo's possession. The police are looking for five more gang members.
Arrest
Munger: Police on Monday nabbed two members of Bihari Mandal's gang and recovered a country-made pistol, four live cartridges and a motorcycle from them.
BJP jab
Patna: BJP spokesperson Sanjay Singh Tiger on Monday said the JDU should realise the reality instead of criticising senior party leader Sushil Kumar Modi on whimsical grounds. Singh said only when noted lawyer Prashant Bhushan moved the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Mohammad Shahabuddin did the government wake to file a separate petition.
Challenge
Patna: The BJP on Monday challenged the JDU to file a defamation suit against Sushil Kumar Modi. The senior leader had earlier alleged that Nitish Kumar wanted to make Shahabuddin's wife Hena Shahab a member of the party but could not do so because of stiff opposition from the BJP, its then ally in government.

Patna: Divisional commissioner, Patna, Anand Kishor on Monday held a review meeting for the Dussehra Mahotsava at Gandhi Maidan. Among the decisions taken, the cultural programme planned for October 11 has been cancelled because of the Ravan Vadh celebrations.
