Scam order

Patna, July 23: Police today received a proclamati on order against ex-BSEB chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh's son-in-law Vivek Ranjan in connection to the exam scam. Ranjan has been accused of managing tenders of printing units where fake answer sheets cards were printed.

Exercise

Patna: Divisional commissioner Anand Kishor on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed karate platform worth Rs 85,000 at Gandhi Maidan. The platform has 15 kinds of equipment for training. Kishor instructed the officials concerned to complete the yoga platform by August 10, 2016.

Summons

Patna: Yoga televangelist Baba Ramdev on Saturday was summoned by Patna chief judicial magistrate Om Prakash to appear before court on August 20, 2016. The summons are for the petition filed by Subay Das against Baba Ramdev for alleging that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi visits Dalit localities as his "honeymoon" on April 25, 2014. during his visit to 'Dalit' localities.

Drug raid

Bhagalpur: Bhagalpur police late Friday night recovered a large number of Corex cough syrup bottles and 44 different scheduled H drugs from Sai Medioc, a medicine shop on Hatiya road in Tilkamanjhi. Manoj Kumar, senior superintendent of police, said the raid was conducted following the confessions of two arrested drug addicts. The shop owner did not have valid documents for the drugs.

Arrest

Patna: The police on Saturday arrested Mahesh Chandra Sharma, Laxmikant Dixit, Nitish Kumar, Gajendra Kumar and Ghanshyam Kumar - residents of Agra and members of an inter-state gang - for smuggling silver. Around three quintals worth of silver biscuits, a pistol, eight cartridges and eight mobile phones has been recovered from their possession, said senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj. The men were on their way to Agra from Bakarganj in an SUV when they were nabbed by the police.

Auto thieves

Patna: The police on Saturday arrested Shahrukh Ansari, Pramod Kumar and Mohammed Sharafat, members of an auto theft gang. The police were tipped off that they would steal four wheelers, re-model them, change the registration number and sell them.
