Patna, July 5: Divisional commissioner Anand Kishor today said the illegal portion of Santosha Apartment in Bandar Bagicha will be demolished from July 8. 

Lightning toll

Gaya: At least seven persons, among them two girl students, who had taken shelter in a roadside temple at Gangapur village were killed after being struck by lightning. Six others were injured.  

Kids drown

Gaya: Two children, identified as Sonu (12) and Amlesh (14), drowned in a pit at Kanabigha village on Tuesday. 

Burglary cuffs

Gopalganj: Two persons were arrested in connection Rs 15 lakh being stolen from the house of a former mukhiya Ranjan Kumar in Jhajhwa Bazar on Monday night. 

Pilgrim help

Munger: Navin Chandra Jha joined as Munger’s new divisional commissioner on Tuesday and promised that the government will provide all facilities to kanwariyas passing through the district during Shravani Mela.

NCW submits report

Patna: National Commission for Women member Sushma Sahu on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and briefed him about the recent rape incidents in Bihar.

Sahu had submitted a detailed report to the PMO on an alleged gang-rape of a 17-year-old girl at Ramgharwa in East Champaran district. She expressed deep anguish over the manner in which local police and officials of the health department dealt with the case. 

Salary stop

Chhapra: District magistrate Dipak Anand on Tuesday issued an order to stop salaries of primary health centre in-charges and block health managers of seven blocks stating that their works regarding the Indradhanush programme was not satisfactory. The DM also warned of taking stern action if regular immunisation programmes were not taken seriously.

Hospital tag

Patna: Jeevak Heart Hospital & Research Institute has become the first super speciality hospital (cardiology and cardiac surgery) in the state to get certified by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH), a press note issued by the hospital on Tuesday, stated.
