Train services affected

Patna, Feb. 8: Train services on the Hajipur-Muzaffarpur section of East Central Railway (ECR) remained paralysed for nearly two hours today after three coaches of the Awadh-Assam Express (15910) derailed near Mirapur railway station in Muzaffarpur district.

ECR chief public relations officer Arvind Kumar Rajak said there were no casualties.

Patna: Additional district and sessions judge of Patna City civil court Manoj Kumar on Monday sentenced Shyam Babu Sao, a resident of Mogalpura, to life imprisonment for the murder of his daughter-in-law Punam Devi in 2012.

Arrest

Patna: Ravi Gupta, who had allegedly asked one of the convicts in the Papiya Ghosh (Patna University faculty) murder case to extort a businessman and a school principal, was arrested on Monday.
