BJP leader murder
Ara: The special task force on Tuesday arrested a sharp shooter, Kishun Kumar Mishra, from Uttarpara in Bengal. Kishun, an accused in the murder of BJP state vice-president Visheshwar Ojha was arrested on the basis of information provided by Harish Mishra, the alleged mastermind behind Ojha's killing on February 12 this year.
The police recovered a rifle from Kishun's hideout on Wednesday.
Ganja seizure
Patna: Sashastra Seema Bal on Tuesday arrested a certain Sanjay Tiwari with 9kg ganja (marijuana) worth Rs 1.35 lakh at Kudiya Chowk near India-Nepal border under Raxaul police station.
Meal poison
Sasaram: A person died and three others were taken ill after consuming "poisonous meal" at Adai village under the jurisdiction of Barhari police station in Rohtas on Wednesday. The victims have been admitted to a local hospital.
Foundation day
Patna: The 62nd foundation day of All India Democratic Students' Organisation was organised at its Nala Road office on Wednesday. The participants resolved to intensify their agitation for the cause of the students.

Patna: Divakshi Tejaswi of Patna has topped the term-end examination of Florida Atlantic University. She did her schooling from Notre Dame Academy and had passed Class XII from DAV, BSEB.
Condolence
Patna: Bihar BJP president Nityanand Rai condoled the death of Madhya Pradesh chief minister Sunder Lal Patwa, who died of heart attack on Wednesday. Rai said he was popular among party workers and his death has caused an irreparable loss. Former state party president Mangal Pandey also condoled his death.
Dharna 'flop'
Patna: Former Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey on Wednesday said RJD chief Lalu Prasad's mahadharna on demonetisation on Wednesday was a flop since parties with whom he is running the government did not lend support to him on demonetisation.
Five nabbed
Samastipur, Dec. 28: Police today arrested five persons for the murder of Samastipur resident Manjeet Sahni, who was killed on Tuesday night when he tried to foil a robbery at the Bank of Baroda's Anishchak branch.
Samastipur superintendent of police Nawal Kishore Singh said three country made pistols, four mobile phones and tools were seized from their possession.

Nawada: A vigilance investigation bureau on Wednesday arrested Indrajeet Rana, the block education officer of Meskaur in Nawada district, on charges of accepting Rs 8,000 as a bribe from Vinodanand Singh in lieu of clearing his bill.
