Liquor seizure
Gopalganj: Police on Tuesday arrested six bootleggers and seized alcohol worth Rs 5 lakh. Two SUVs and a motorcycle were also seized during the operation. Gopalganj superintendent of police Ravi Ranjan Kumar said the liquor was brought from Uttar Pradesh.
Accident
Gopalganj: A rickshaw puller, Kailash Ram, was crushed to death by a car at Sisai village on Monday. Police on Tuesday seized the vehicle that was found abandoned in Lachchichak village.
Border work
Raxaul: Survey and repair work of border pillars over 85km in Parsa, Bara and Chitwan districts of Nepal bordering India began on Tuesday. This drive has been initiated to sort out the border dispute between the countries and vacate encroached land on both sides, said Raxaul sub-divisional police officer Rakesh Kumar.

Raxaul: The Raxaul sub-division administration will prepare a database of every temple, temple in-charges and idols in the wake of frequent theft at shrines in the bordering areas.
Stabbed
Munger: A coal merchant, Enul Ansari (43), was stabbed to death on Monday evening when he was returning home after work.
Govt attack
Darbhanga: CPM central politburo member Dhirendra Jha on Tuesday attacked the Bihar government saying that chief minister Nitish Kumar "has ditched the common people and Modi's misadventure has spoiled farming in Bihar. Nitish's support of demonetisation is an insult to the mandate he got in Bihar in the Assembly elections".
Shootout
Munger: A woman passenger was injured when members of two groups exchanged fire at Bariarpur railway station on Monday. The injured was admitted to Munger Sadar Hospital for treatment.
New rules
Patna: The high court division bench of Acting Chief Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice Vikash Jain on Tuesday allowed radiologists to practice ultrasound without undergoing six months of training, as was earlier made compulsory by the state government.
Death
Bhabua: Two family members died and six others fell ill after a woman mistakenly poured insecticide Thymet instead of tea at Sotwan village in Kaimur district on Tuesday. The dead have been identified as Jamwanti Devi and her daughter Sheela Devi. Others have been hospitalised.
