Loot at petrol pump

Muzaffarpur: Motorcycle-borne criminals looted Rs 5.8 lakh from a petrol pump manager near Jata village on Monday.

Vinayak Kumar was robbed at gunpoint near Satnam petrol pump station in the Gaighat police station area when he was on way to deposit the cash. He was rushed to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday expressed sorrow at the death of Rajiv Kumar Rai, a resident of Vaishali district, in firing by Pakistan on the Udhampur border three days ago. He announced that the soldier's last rites will be performed with full state honours and announced Rs 11 lakh ex gratia for his kin.

Man shot at

Patna: A businessman was shot at on Monday evening at Kavi Raman Path adjacent to Patna Women's College. The businessman identified as Om Mandal was at his grocery shop in the area when the criminals fired at him. He has been admitted in PMCH.

Patna/Darbhanga: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary, at Patel Chowk. Teachers and administrators at Lalit Narayan Mithila University also paid tributes to Pate.

Liquor seizure

Patna: Police on Monday seized 18 bottles of foreign liquor and 30 pouches of country-made liquor from a spot near Patna Junction.

Patna: Sheikhpura resident Rani Devi (23) committed suicide on Monday morning by consuming some poisonous liquid.
