Road mishap
Sasaram (PTI): Two sisters were killed on Tuesday in a road accident on the Sasaram-Ara road in Rohtas district, police said. A speeding truck rammed into the motorbike on which the women were riding pillion.

Patna: Pirbahore police rescued one Neha Kumari from abductors during a special drive launched on the instruction of the senior superintendent of police.
Fencing teams
Patna: The Bihar Fencing Association on Tuesday announced the boys' and girls' teams for the 23rd Junior National Fencing Competition. The competition will be held from January 7-10 at Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.
Body found
Chhapra: Police on Tuesday found the body of Goreya Tola resident Ajit Kumar Rai near Itwa middle school under Garkha police station. The deceased was on his way to meet his sister in Maker. Police said he was strangled to death.
Vehicle gang
Motihari: Police on Tuesday caught three members of a criminal gang and recovered at least six SUVs from various locations disclosed by them near Motihari. The vehicles were looted in the past few months from in and around the East Champaran district, superintendent of police Jitendra Rana said.
27 kids rescued
Kota (PTI): Twenty-five child labourers from Bihar and two from Uttar Pradesh, forced to work in hazardous conditions at a bread factory in Anantpura in the Rajasthan town, have been rescued. An anti-human trafficking unit rescued the children, aged between 14 and 17 years, in a raid on Monday. An FIRhas been lodged against two persons.
SSB alert
Motihari: Sashastra Seema Bal personnel have been put on high alert in wake of the ongoing Madhesi movement in Nepal. The force apprehends entry of criminals into India, taking benefit of the unrest, said SSB deputy commandant Sunil Kumar.
Bribe cuffs
Patna: Vigilance bureau sleuths on Tuesday arrested Jaivind Jha, the acting medical officer of Sameli primary health centre in Katihar district, for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.
Exam whip
Patna: The education department on Tuesday suspended four school principals for dereliction of duty in last year's matriculation examination when several students and parents indulged in unfair means at exam centres. The principals are from Saran, Vaishali and Ara.
Docs' strike
Motihari: Doctors launched a strike on Tuesday after police sent the bodyguard of a local medico, C.B. Singh, to jail. The police had called in the bodyguard to record his statement at a local court over an attack at the doctor's house on January 1.
Varsity attack
Darbhanga: An FIR has been lodged against three Darbhanga residents - Rohit Yadav, Pintu Singh and Manish Singh -for attacking a group of students on the university campus on Tuesday. A student, identified as Chandrabhushan, suffered injuries in the attack.
