Excise loss petition
Patna: A high court division bench on Friday directed the state government to file reply in a case related to the loss of revenue worth Rs 341 crore suffered by the excise department in issuance of tenders for opening of country-made liquor shops in the state.
The state told the court that the government had incurred no loss while issuing tenders. The court then directed it to file a reply on how there had been no loss of revenue to the state exchequer. The next date of hearing is on August 31.

Patna: IAS officers Kawal Tanuj, Mithilesh Mishra and Pankaj Dixit have been promoted to joint secretary rank, according to a notification issued by the general administration department on Friday. Moreover, 13 IAS officials have been given additional charge of different departments.
Body found
Patna: Police recovered the body of a seven-year-old girl from a government school at Paliganj in Patna rural on Friday. The sleuths said she had gone missing from her native village during a political meeting at Paliganj on Thursday evening. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
