Four die in road mishap
Nawada (PTI): Four persons of a marriage party died on Tuesday and 15 others were injured when their vehicle collided head-on with a truck near Patangi More in Nawada district here. The vehicle carrying 24 people was on its way from Akbarpur Tanti village to Hisua Noiagari when it collided with the truck, Rajauli deputy superintendent of police Birender Kumar Sahu said.
Delhi minister
Munger:Anand Swaroop, a police inspector from Delhi, visited Munger Law College on Tuesday to inspect the admission registers in connection with the alleged false law degree obtained by Delhi law minister Jitendra Singh Tomar. He secured photocopies of the admission register.
Long detention
Patna: Patna High Court on Tuesday ordered the state government to file a reply in a case related to detention of a convict for over 14 years in a life imprisonment case. Mohammad Hashmat was sentenced to life by a Saharsa session court in 1982, but has been languishing in Purnea jail since.
Forged maps
Patna: The vigilance investigation bureau on Tuesday submitted a chargesheet in a special vigilance court against retired Patna municipal corporation junior engineer Ratan Kumar Singh for allegedly issuing forged maps of many buildings. The department lodged FIR against 14 people, including K. Senthil Kumar, PMC commissioner on July 21, 2010.

Patna: An FIR was lodged against a wholesaler found selling banned tobacco products in Karbighaiya locality on Tuesday.

Patna: R.K. Sinha took over as chief executive officer of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, on Tuesday. He was earlier deputy chief executive officer of KBUNL.

Gaya: India Power Corporation Limited will complete a year of its franchisee in Gaya on June 1. President, corporate affairs and administration, Somesh Dasgupta said, the company will now start corporate social responsibility.
Storm kills 2
Sitamarhi (PTI): Two persons, including a minor girl, were killed and a boy injured in a storm that swept through Sitamarhi district on Monday night, officials said.

Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board chairman Lal Keshwar Prasad Singh on Tuesday announced results of intermediate commerce exams. Around 90.55 per cent of the 83,000 students who wrote the exam cleared it and 31.79 per cent students secured first division marks.

Patna: Mahatma Phule Yuva Jagran Manch general secretary and treasurer Rameshwar Kumar Mahto on Tuesday announced a felicitation and training camp for youths on July 29. Chief minister Nitish Kumar would be chief guest.
SI suspended
Begusarai: Babloo Pandit, a sub-inspector, was put under suspension on Tuesday after he opened fire at a truck driver that hit his motorbike at Bakhri Bazar.
Murder case
Nawada: A Nawada court on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to six persons for murdering Ram Swaroop Yadav at Nijay village on October 8, 2005. They were also fined Rs 5,000 each.
Contract killer
Begusarai: A contract killer identified as Daulat Singh was arrested from Pahsara village for involvement in the murder of one Samajeet Tanti, killed by a gang a fortnight ago.
