5 hurt in jail clash
Patna: Five persons, including two warders, were injured at Shaheed Khudiram Bose Memorial Central Jail in Muzaffrpur on Monday morning in a clash following the death of an undertrial.
The protests started around 6am after news of 65-year-old undertrial Shivchandra Ram's death spread among the inmates. The jail authorities found Ram dead on Sunday night and ruled the death a suicide as a towel ( gamchha) was found tied around Ram's neck.

Hajipur: Nine persons were arrested and illegal firearms seized from them after a raid at Ramdauli riverine (diara) under Bidupur police station in Vaishali district on Monday.

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday inaugurated 116 police buildings, including 29 police station houses, at a function organised by Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation.

Narasimha Reddy and Justice Sudhir Singh on Monday disposed of a case related to cheating in the matriculation exam after the government assured it that all necessary steps have been taken for preventing such malpractices of any kind in the exams.
